The Unseen Power of Mid-Level Managers in Cultivating Talent Growth

The recent survey by Beamery, a talent management platform, revealed a disconnect between the C-suite and middle managers regarding talent development. While 58% of the C-suite sees HR as primarily responsible for retaining talent, only 9% acknowledge the role of front-line managers, although they recognize the significance of managers in guiding workers to career opportunities and upskilling. Interestingly, the survey noted that managers, constituting 80%, recognized skills gaps within their teams. However, 27% admitted to lacking a comprehensive understanding of their team members’ strengths and skills.
